Since then, 3 Hong Kong has refarmed existing 15MHz spectrum in the 5G dedicated 2100MHz spectrum band to rapidly expand 5G service coverage. To date, 3 Hong Kong boasts 5G coverage of 99%, covering Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories and Islands District. The 5G Live Video Production Service allows professional video or media production companies to transmit live HD video streams over the 5G network, eliminating the need for satellite vans. The service also allows mobile journalists to transmit video using a backpack-compatible transmission unit. In the future, they'll be able to use their smartphones or tablets.

Bharti's FWA 5G indicates the carrier's intent to spread 5G as far as possible in India, despite practical challenges of building out fiber in rural locations.

AIS's 5G standalone network covers all 77 provinces of Thailand. For business customers, it offers a Paragon Platform MEC solution for edge computing that is compatible with both AWS and Azure for multicloud constructs. AIS also offers the AIS Connectivity Portal for enterprises to manage SIM inventories and connectivity as part of IoT and machine-to-machine environments. Brazilian regional operator Algar Telecom has launched a commercial non-standalone (NSA) 5G service using its newly acquired 2.3-GHz spectrum. AT&T continues to trade below the value of its rivals T-Mobile and Verizon and shows a steady downward share progression in 2024.

AT&T 5G is a low-band (less than 1 GHz) service that is the "slowest" of three options for 5G customers. Despite diversifying its services, AT&T continues to trade below the value of its rivals T-Mobile and Verizon and shows a steady downward share progression in 2024.

AT&T 5G+ Mid-Band is one of three choices of 5G open to customers. (Others include 5G+ mmWave) and "regular" 5G. The mid-band options provides 5G two ways: at rates of 3.45 GHz and at C-band rates between 3.7 GHz and 3.98 GHz. AT&T says 5G+ is available to 210 million people throughout the U.S.

But the carrier doesn't see the service as strategic and therefore probably won't make as much from it as its rivals T-Mobile or Verizon are making on FWA 5G. Telenet, the parent company of Belgium's BASE mobile provider, rolled out 5G consumer service to customers with existing 5G-capable phones in December 2021. Since then, the company claims to be gradually rolling out the network to other large cities, though those are unspecified. Currently based on the provisional spectrum license granted by the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) and on 4G spectrum, the rollout of 5G will be accelerated once the actual 5G licenses have been granted. Bell began deploying 3500 MHz wireless spectrum in the summer of 2022, starting the next phase of 5G advancement. Today, Bell claims to have 5G service available to 51% of the Canadian population and has extended 5G+ to major Canadian cities.

Betacom is innovating in an area of narrow and apparently limited demand. Still, the evolution of advanced automation technology, helped by the development of generative AI, could help advance the use of private 5G in manufacturing settings and beyond.
